Description

Super Geotextile 4 oz non woven geotextile is a double needle punched polypropylene filter fabric built for drainage. It lets water flow through fast while keeping soil and fines out of your gravel, so French drains, dry wells and drainage trenches keep working for years.

  • Double needle punched non woven polypropylene – strong, dimensionally stable and easy to cut.
  • High water flow – filters soil while letting water through (140 gpm/ft²).
  • Puncture resistant – 300 lb CBR puncture rating protects against rock and roots.
  • Mildew & rot resistant – made to last up to 50 years when properly buried.
  • Many sizes – from 3' wide drain rolls up to wide pieces for big jobs, plus a 1' x 1' sample.

Common uses

  • French drains & drainage trenches
  • Dry wells & downspout drains
  • Under gravel paths & patios

Installation tips

  1. Clear and smooth the area – remove sharp rocks, roots and debris.
  2. Roll the fabric out flat and snug, without wrinkles.
  3. Overlap seams 12–18 inches (more on soft ground or slopes).
  4. Pin the edges and seams to hold the fabric in place while you work.
  5. Place gravel or rock gently – don’t drop large rock from height onto the fabric.

Don’t forget the pins. Hold your fabric in place with our 6" galvanized circle top landscape pins or 11 gauge galvanized landscape staples.

FAQ

How do I figure out how much I need?
Multiply width x length for square feet, then add extra for seam overlaps and for wrapping up the sides of a trench. For a French drain, the fabric width should cover the bottom and both sides of the trench plus an overlap on top.

Woven or non woven?
Non woven is for drainage and filtration – water passes through quickly. Woven is for separation and stabilization under driveways and roads where water flow matters less.

Will this stop weeds?
It can help slow weed growth, but for planting beds our Pro Grade 5 oz weed barrier is the better choice.

Not sure which size?
Order a 1' x 1' sample first to see and feel the fabric.

MUCH NEEDED GREAT QUALITY.

Definitely a great product and much needed. The only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is because there was absolutely no local or fast shipping availability and that can be a problem when your paying for equipment rental. While a fast shipping was offered through the website it was still 4 days . but very pleased with product.

Hi Sindee, thank you for your positive feedback! We appreciate your understanding regarding the shipping times and will work on improving our delivery options. Glad you're pleased with the product!

Geo-tex Fabric used for Retaining Wall Drainage

The 6oz Geo-tex fabric worked to create drainage sleeves for a short retaining wall. We cut 2ft sections of the 3ft wide non-woven fabric. These were sewn together using a flat felled seam technique to make a 6ft x 2ft piece. These were then sewn length-wise to make a tube with about 7in diameter. We gathered the one ends using nylon coated stainless steel wire, and then secured the gather using stainless steel hose clamps. After filling with washed crushed mountain granite, we secured the other end in the same fashion. For a 25ft wall, we needed four sleeves placed along the bottom row of mortared retaining wall blocks to allow seepage to escape via the weep holes.

Excellent for permanent landscaping project

We chose the 8 oz. 4’ x 100’ for the first application and used every inch of it as the base for laying 3” of rubber mulch. Fabric or geotextile is a beautiful very durable application. So comfortable to craw around and lay on while applying. Highly recommend using at least 6” staples and always lay w 8” overlap for best results. Remember to measure twice, cut once! Great service and quick delivery. Quality worth every cent!

Excellent material for my open french drain

I bought the 4oz and 8oz versions. The material is very well made and easy to layout. The 4oz was used with my perforated pipe and rocks. The 8oz will be used for my rock scaping and against a sitting wall. Landscape pins need some effort to get it through since the material is thick. I expect it to last a very long time.

This is REAL landscaping fabric

I'm putting together a timber retaining wall with weeping tile and went looking for something better than the thin, weak landscaping fabric you find at the big box stores. I looked around on Amazon and was hesitant at first to spend the extra money on this product but I'm so glad I did. This fabric is MUCH thicker and tougher than the flimsy fabric widely sold as landscaping fabric. I could not tear this fabric and cutting it required a brand new, sharp utility blade. I tend to over-engineer my projects and this product fits in with that tendency. It will let water through without letting dirt through and keep the drainage to my wall from becoming clogged. I recommend this product.

Awesome Product for My Gravel Shed Pad

I recently ordered a 20x12 shed for my backyard. Rather than having it set on cinder blocks, I decided to install a 6" gravel pad for the foundation. All of the online research I did showed that a high quality geotextile fabric is necessary as a barrier between the gravel and the soil. The crew I hired to install my pad had to dig out a an area that was 23x15 feet. This 25x15 fabric, cut down to 23 feet fit it perfectly. This fabric is everything it claims to be. It's thick, well made, and it is outstanding at draining off rain water. It supports the weight of 8 yards of #57 stone and its size allows the 4x6 frame to sit on the fabric rather than direct ground contact. I have no regrets about purchasing this product and I highly recommend it.

Best fabric I have ever used

Very sturdy fabric for french drains. I can easily pull up to remove any folds and slack under the gravel to pull the fabric tight. When doing the same with the strongest available from the box store the stuff just rips right apart. Water penetrates much easier than the plastic woven material we used on the surface. Although digging 150 feet of french drains by hand really sucked. I will buy more of this fabric and recommend it highly.

GREAT SELLER! GREAT PRODUCT! THIS STUFF BLOCKS THE WEEDS AND SUPPORTS THE SOIL!

I've used this product before and from the same seller. Good People and this is the best 8 mil fabric for proper bed design. It's not the home depot or lowes durable, it's like a wool blanket in feel. Thicker than industry stardard and made to acrually lasy. With proper installation you will not see weeds poking through in 5 years unless soil blows on top of fabric. It feels like a wool blanket, not like the plastic everyone else sells. This isn't too thick to work with, it's perfect when needing a woven quality product. It's worth every penny more you spend and if you think im trying to sell you then you'll know if you try this you will never go back to that other plastic feeling stuff that easily pictures and creates breaks in time from UV and element exposure. You'd be a wise one to take this advice if your a true professional wanting to give your customers quality landscaping. I have used this since the day i first ordered it. I'll never settle for saving my customers over a few dollars. You'll understand when you get it, there's nothing like it, its A+ what you want in your beds. If you think you'll get it cheaper somewhere else, your wasting your time. You won't find it anywhere else and you'd probably pay more anyway. Just dont buy it all if you try it. I'll be needing more soon and I'm the one who told you about it. Courteous
